Cherry galette with almond cream
I swore that this year, when cherry season strikes, besides stuffing myself crazy with fresh cherries, I would actually set aside some for baking. And I did!

Bacon caramel popcorn nomnoms
Once you step into the working world, I gradually realise that life will always be a cycle of "Hello, my name is XXX, and you are?" when you first meet your new colleagues, to "Bye! Farewell and wish you all the best in your new job!" when your colleagues leave for greener pastures.
Colleagues are the people you see most often than anyone else I guess. You see them five times a week, for at least nine hours. You lunch with them. You gossip together. You might even go out with them outside working hours too. So, in most cases, you would probably pray hard that you get colleagues that you can get along well with.
I bid farewell to one of my colleagues last month. She loves savoury stuff, and hasbeen a guinea pig tasted some of my baked goods that I've brought to work. I've made some maple bacon macarons before for her to try, and when I saw a recipe for bacon caramel popcorn, I offhandedly said that I'll make some for her some time soon. Well, the time for "some time" came soon then expected, so I made these for her before her last day at work came about.

ReStore
The same day I visited Toby's Estate for brunch, girlfriend and I decided that we needed some "sweet stuff" to end our meal. I know. How lucky I am that said girlfriend has a sweet tooth like me. Toby's Estate sweet offerings didn't appeal, and neither did any of the other cafes near by at Robertson caught our fancy. Thus, we whipped out our trusty iPhones and started googling for dessert places. What a surprise when we found that several places at Duxton/Ann Siang area were closed on Sundays (either that, or it was too late in the afternoon, and we were afraid that there might not be anything much left...).
We did managed to find one that we agreed on - ReStore. So off we drove (in our respective cars I might add - HA!) in search of that place. I'm no expert at directions, so I trailed happily behind my friend's car. We took a while to find parking (damn Singapore and its limited parking spots), but in the end, we managed to find lots pretty near the place.

Toby's Estate
Toby's Estate known more for its coffee rather than its brunch menu. I was quite surprised to hear they serve brunch too, so I decided to head there for a visit for brunch.
