Portico

I wouldn't have known about this place if my friend had not said she wanted to meet there for dinner. It was actually right next door to one of my favourite Japanese restaurant, Himawari, but I had never seen the place before prior to the dinner.

Dancing Crab

I was on course for the past week, and it's been really nice, being away from the office (the shorter hours are a bonus too!). When I'm away from the office, it just makes me use social platforms lesser, cos I don't access it mindlessly when I'm at work, and even when I get home, I don't really really switch on the laptop too. It's nice to take a short break from social media once in a while.  And from that, I mean my most frequently used media platforms - Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and Twitter (in that order of usage).

But, yeah, I was reminded of my promise (to self) to blog more to finish my backlogs. So, here's a really great seafood place I've been to last year, twice.

Wheelers Yard

A pretty photogenic cafe. One where everybody goes just for a shot with the iconic blue doors (which I have yet to snap a shot at though I've been there a coupla times already!).

Spathe Public House

I'm such a procrastinator. Every month, I say I'll try to post more, but every month, I end up being lazy/too busy/tired to think of the words to accompany my posts.

Omakase Burger

There was much talk about Omakase Burger when it first opened in 2012. It took me a whole year, before I managed to try it in late 2013, in December. I remember the exact date in fact, as it was the day of the Standard Chartered Marathon 2013, and I was absolutely starving after the race as I only got to eat my first meal of the day at about two in the afternoon. Yeah. So. As I was saying, I popped by the store, super eager to get my hands on some burger and fries.

Cups and Canvas

The Singapore I knew as a child did not encourage the arts industry. The era that I had grown up with had the old school mentality that one has to be in the medicine, law, finance sector to be considered "successful". Thankfully, we've since progressed beyond that. Slowly, yes, but baby steps is considered a positive change.

Dean & Deluca

As much as I love food, surprisingly, I'm not someone who will go absolutely nuts over famous new stores opening (so far) on our local shores. Not even when I first heard of Ladurée's opening in Singapore...so needless to say, I wasn't exactly going "wow" when I first heard of Dean & Deluca's opening. The truth was I haven't even heard of the brand before. Ha. Me? A foodie? Yeah right...(not).

Fern & Kiwi

I've visited Fern & Kiwi twice. The first time, a few months back when my friend gave me a birthday treat, and the second, early this month where I went for a friend's birthday dinner. Both times, I wasn't disappointed with the food (there were more hits than misses). So it's safe to say that it's definitely a place to recommend.

eM & Toby's Estate

I love brunches. It's no secret. It's probably the other cause of why I never ever lose any weight (besides my number one weakness - desserts). I've been trying out a few new places with my friends for the past few months and there were a few hits and misses.

Nosh

I like quiet brunch places. One, there is the lack of crowds (that's a self explanatory reason). Two, you can actually carry a (regular decibel) conversation without constantly leaning over to be heard of the din (or just to avoid listening unintentionally to the next table's conversation). Three, it is easier to find parking.

And Nosh happens to fit all of the above mentioned.

L'Etoile Cafe

About a month ago, I started cafe hopping on the weekends with a girlfriend. Two cafes per Sunday. We did it about two weeks or so straight cos our schedules happened to coincide. For once. We started off with a brunch cafe, followed with a coffee joint after. L'Etoile was our "late brunch" (I wonder what one call lunch+dinner. Lunner? Dinch? Ha!) cafe option.

Vanilla Bar & Cafe

Met the girlfriends at a quiet spot in the CBD on a weeknight for dniner. The place was full, but we could still get seats for four quite easily.

Five & Dime Eatery

I was anticipating the brunch at Five & Dime Eatery, another place that has seen a surge in visitors after it opened. After two missed chances to visit the eatery (thrice's the charm?), I finally managed to get myself down there to see what was the hype about.

Club Street Social

It's one of the latest (okay, not that latest by the time I get around to posting this) hippest place to be. I've heard good reviews about the place so I decided to drop by for lunch one day.
