Senso Ristorante & Bar

For my 25th birthday last year, I spent a quiet day out (since my workplace had a birthday- off leave). I had a nice lunch at a place of my choice with the Sister, followed with good coffee at a new cafe I was planning to check out, and then finished it off with a decent dinner at a small cosy spot with one of my girl pal.

As I age, I find my expectations for the so called hatch-day evolving. As a kid, I'll be uber excited in anticipation of the numerous presents I was going to receive for my birthday. Now, I'm just thankful for people (whom I know are busy) who take the time out of their busy schedules and gift me with their presence. Thank goodness for these precious moments indeed.

ilLido

November is a busy month for me as I have several friends and family (including my Dad, my Mom and my Sis!) whose birthdays fall during that month. For my Sister's 28th birthday this year, she chose ilLido for one of our family's regular dining sessions.

Oso Ristorante

The girlfriends scheduled a belatd birthday dinner for me some time back. We planned to eat Italian (I'm forever trying out new Italian places with that bunch of girlfriends...ha!) and one of them booked a table of four for Oso Ristorante.

Pardon for the really bad photos below...the lighting in the restaurant was dim, and I still haven't figure out how to properly shoot food photos in a night setting indoors. You would notice that the colour lighting for all the photos below look really different. Sigh.

Pietrasanta

When our Swiss friend came over for a holiday a few months back, we brought her to an Italian place that some of my girlfriends heartily recommended.

Da Paolo Bistro Bar

A few weeks ago on a Friday, I met up with my girlfriends for dinner at a quiet spot. On a weekend night, the place was relatively free of crowds (ah, the bliss!). Where am I talking about? Shhhh. Don't tell, but it's actually Rochester Park.

Gattopardo

Gattopardo is situated at Hotel Fort Canning, not quite exactly a very crowded place to head to for a weekend lunch. We made reservations at the restaurant, but when we arrived, there were only a handful of tables that were taken. It probably didn't help the restaurant, but it was drizzling that Saturday afternoon, and also, renovations were taking place and construction workers were working to make the place ready for the opening of the hotel.

Palio

It was my first time at Resorts World. The place was seriously packed. You can tell by just looking at the carpark. All the lots were full and alot of cars were parked illegally. Sheesh.

Anyway, back to my first glimpse of RWS, I was there to have dinner at Palio. Daddy had made a reservation there cos he say we can head to RWS to "take a look". Everything was spanking new and sparkling clean (yeah, it's new. Wait another 2 years. haha.). And the people oh the people. There were many tourists, from China and Indonesia (from their looks and accents), and alot of local families just probably doing the same as us, going there to "take a look" and walk around. ;)

We walked through Hotel Michael (haha, owned by my dad, the one named Michael. Okay, that was so not funny.) Anyway, we walked past Singapore's one and only Victoria Secret's store, and it wasn't looking very good man. The selections were SPARSE to say the least. I reckon people are better off just buying the goodies online. Much wider range of goods. ;)

I digress again. Back to Palio. Dinner time.

Garibaldi's

I had high hopes for this place. But people always say don't expect too much of something. You might be disappointed in the end. This is one such occasion. Sadly.
