Vietnam 2012: Ho Chi Minh City

Finally, the last of my Vietnam 2012 photos are up. I just HAD to finish them...cos I'm actually flying off for a holiday in Taipei tonight! :D

New trip = new photos. I couldn't afford to procrastinate any longer or I'll just combust from the backlog of photos to be uploaded after my return. I can't wait for the trip. It's been almost six (?) years since my last visit to Taipei and I believe there's been many changes to the city. I'll be visiting places I didn't went the last time round (Hualian, Danshui, Jiufen, Xinbeitou...) and of course, Sadaharu Aoki!!!

I'm rushing to head out for a quick dinner before my midnight flight, thus the limited captions for this post. Bear with me. If you're curious about anything I might not have captioned, drop a note, I'll reply when I can! :)

L'Espresso

I went for my first ever high tea last December with my cousin to exchange Christmas presents. Yeps. I can't believe I've not been to a high tea before considering I love everything dainty, sweet and miniature.

Fret not. I'm sure this hopefully marks the start of more frequent future high tea sessions? Well, one can certainly always dream. (:

Eggs and tomatoes done two ways

Eggs and tomatoes for brunch are awesome. I had eggs and tomatoes done two ways over a weekend some time back and thoroughly enjoyed both breakfasts (yes, it was the same Saturday and Sunday back to back...so it was a truly an eggs overload weekend.)

Evan came over a couple months back when we made the Earl grey creme brulee, and we had a late homemade brunch that morning before we started our baking session. She brought homemade waffles and bacon, while I made us some baked eggs and tomatoes.

The waffles were really good with butter and real maple syrup. It makes me want to go out to get myself a waffle maker. I really love waffles...Anyone keen to sponsor me one? =D

Matcha goma entremet

I was itching to make an entremet again after a long pause from my last one. I've been eyeing this particular recipe for the longest time ever, and knew that I should not procrastinate any longer and just do it (as Nike says). :)

Vietnam 2012: Halong Bay

I'm back for a short stint to continue on my Vietnam travels. I'm on the third part, with a final HCMC post to follow.

Work's been pretty hectic as of late, and I predict that it'll only get busier from now till July. I can't summon the strength to do up a lengthy post, so enjoy the visuals of Halong Bay and the Cave of Surprises.

First up is my first ever panoramic photo. Click to get a clearer view. :D

Cappuchino praline brownie cheesecake

This was my secret indulgence last month when I was PMS-ing. I tend to crave chocolate intensely once a month, and this was my February fix to those cravings.

Maple wheat bread

Like I said earlier, I'm on a streak to bake more bread this year. And here's another recipe that I tried out last month for some tasty maple wheat bread.
