New Moon

Finally, the long awaited New Moon was released. To prep myself up, I reread the book again the week before so refresh my memory. Now I wish I didn't. I mean. It's a given that nothing, and I mean nothing, can actually beat the actual book. So why did I even bother reading the book first before going for the movie? It's more like me willing myself to be critical towards the movie consciously. Tsk tsk.

Well, I'm not about to say that there are no redeeming features of the movie of course. In the book, I was more engrossed in the parts about the Volturri and less so about the wolf boys (Jacob in particular, like hello? Just accept already that you're just Bella's best friend and nothing more boy, why hurt yourself so?). In the movie however, *ahem, I was interested in the Volturri parts still, but also interested in the wolf boys.

Reason? Well, come on, let's take another closer look at the wolf boys...

The Wolf Pack

Yummy. They were all pretty hot stuff yeah? ;) All except Sam. He looks a bit old. Snigger. But I can't blame him for being old. His character is supposed to be a few years older than the rest of the wolf boys anyway.

Somehow, they changed some bits (that's the norm) - omitting lines and scenes and also, changing the sequence of the lines. In fact, at the part where Bella pushes Edward into the alley hall, Edward delivers the mushy line that was supposed to take place AFTER the whole Volturri affair. Thus I was mistaken (and stricken) that the directors were going to cut out the whole Volturri bit. Like WTH. Luckily for them, they did follow up with the whole Volturri scenes. If not, someone is going to pay dearly...*Hmpf.

I read news that the actors are currently in the midst of filming the third movie. But no news on the fourth though. HMMM. I really dread the thought of a fourth movie. I mean, I'm secretly hoping that they will (since they've already started on the series anyway) and at the same time, secretly hoping they won't (only those who've read the book will understand immediately - potential gory scenes x10000 times). I shadn't go into the details lest any diehard Twilight (movie-only) fans out there kill me for divulging the ending before they get to watch it in the cinemas. People. Just go pick up the book already man.
