I can't recall when my love for food, in particularly desserts, first evolved. It could be ever since I was a young kid scoffing down the childhood snacks like Pokky, Collon, Hello Panda and the likes (I still do enjoy these occasional munchies especially when assignments come knocking...) or when I discovered that the Internet is the champs with its plethora of food blogs, food websites etc.
The photographs on food blogs seduced me so. Often posted by professional food bloggers who besides being adept in the kitchen with one hand, were also proficient in handling a camera with their other. The sharp quality of images, snapped with digital SLRs that they yield in their mighty hands, with their bright colours and superb compositions danced before me. The feeling of reaching into the computer screen to touch or taste the food often haunts me so, for the macro function on cameras enabled me to see every detailed part of the picture clearly.
My list of "to bake" has been expanding continously. I have a suspicion that the list would never cease itself for many more months to come. Charlotte Russe. Pâte Feuilletée. Le fraisier. Opéra cake. Macarons. Earl Grey muffins. Matcha eclairs. Soufflé. Crème brûlée. Cinnamon rolls. Linzer Sables...
I have a sudden urge to bake today. After a mere break of one week or less (I just made Tiramisu the other day), my hands are itching to get going. The recipe, the slight tweaking of some ingredients, the baking tools, the smells that emit from the oven and fills the house, the thrill of decorating the food and the completion of the product. I love everything about baking.
I wish I could bake every day. I can't wait to shop for more baking tools/equipment/ingredients. (:
Happy 25th Sis!
